Overview of Workshop, Presentation, and Resources
Welcome to my website. I am Matt Johnson, Assistant Principal at Cedartown High School. Thank you for visiting this website and for attending my Mobile Minds University 2016 session on how to Increase Literacy in the Non-English Classroom. The purpose of this workshop is to help teachers grow in skill and understanding regarding literacy and how to address the need to create lessons that engage students in content literacy outside of the English classroom setting. The accompanying resources and presentations strive to explain literacy, clarify the expectations of Georgia teachers to address literacy, and showcase how to build meaningful lessons, tasks, and assessments that are all focused on literacy. Please explore the resources below along with the pages in the menu bar above to add new strategies to your classroom to help our students reach expected literacy targets. Contact information is included in the top menu bar if you have any questions or need assistance. Happy exploring.
